Organic Links – The Secret to Creating Content that Gets Backlinks

organic linksFinding good topics is hard – but it’s even harder to find content that will organic links.

Content that’s also link-magnet is the dream for many SEOs.

At least that was the case till now.

Linkody just released a feature that will make this a thing of the past.

We have been testing this feature for a while and it really works.

In general, there are only certain types of content that get links. Even when you find the perfect topic, there is always the possibility that you get no backlinks.

Just as soon as we realized that we found a solution that you can use as well, we developed that into a feature.we-got-this-fo-sho

  2. Free tools that gets links – Free Backlink CheckerFree Tools

So, here’s what you need to know.

Types of Content That Earn Organic Links

In theory, it’s really simple – you create something awesome and people will add organic backlinks.

But in reality, not so much.

Here’s a jump rope tutorial. Google considers these as the best 3 videos on the topic.

jump rope tutorial

Result?no backlinks foundAll 3 of these videos have exactly 0 backlinks, NADA, not a single site has considered linking to this content.

But why?

Because some content are more link-elicious than others. Here are 4 types of content that are more likely to get backlinks:

  • Controversial news or entertainment
  • How-to guides and tutorials
  • Research and case studies
  • Free stuff & tools

There is still the exception – the jump rope video tutorial. Even though it was a tutorial, it had 0 backlinks.

So, it’s not clear as to what gets backlinks.

Well, that was the case until now.

Linkody has released a feature that let’s you see which topics get the most backlinks and now link-elicious topics are just a click away.

Find Link Magnet Content

Linkody’s new feature lets you see which of your competitor’s content gets the most backlinks.

Your competitors have done the hard work for you. Why not use that?

The journey to the-content-that-gets-backlinks-while-you-sleep, starts here.find topics

  1. Click on Competitors tab
  2. And select one of your top competitors. In our case, we wanted to check out the top pages for searchengineland.com

Now head over to “View Top Pages”

View top competitor pages

That’s where you will find your key to backlinks:

Topic research

Just at a glance, you can see 4 types of content that get backlinks and which are the exact topics that people link to.

Then all you have to do is see if you can create better content than what’s already out there.

For some industries that will be really easy, for some a bit harder.

Once the content is ready, you will need to get the first backlinks to get the ball rolling.

Linkody does it better. This fresh-out-of-the-oven feature helps get the first links too.

Let’s say we want to create a guide for “What is SEO?”. To find link-building opportunities, click on the number in the “links” section:what is seo topics backlinks

You will be able to see all the sites that link to that content:what is seo backlinks

What’s next? – If you have a better post why not ask to add a link to your article as well?

Now Linkody not only helps monitor link-building campaigns but also helps find link-elicious content and spot backlinking opportunities.

Wait no longer –  test the new feature 😉

Get More Backlinks for Your Existing Content

There actually is one more thing you can do with this feature. That is, finding backlink opportunities for your existing content and the way it works is brilliant.

Let’s use our blog as an example. We have an SEO FAQ and there is this post that explains what a root domain is.

what's a root domainIt’s second on Google.

But what if it’s just 1 backlink away from being a featured snippet or first on SERPs?

The first results get 80% of all the backlinks.

So it’s definitely worth finding more link-building opportunities.

If you looked at the picture above you might have noticed that Raventools article is 1st. They happen to be a backlink tracker as well and of course, one of the competitors we just happen 😉 to monitor:

linkody monitors competitors (smiley face)

Once we checked out their top pages, surely enough, we found their root domain post.(1). And to see all their backlinks click on the backlink counter (2):we found you

Linkody also shows whether the domain that points to your competitor links to your website as well (2).backlink counter

And just like that, you can find high quality link-building opportunities.

Now, it’s time to take the new feature for a spin but be careful, organic links will find you.
